Podcasts 🎧
Welcome to my podcast list! I’ve been listening to podcasts for a while now, rather that repeatedly harping on about the ones i like the best I thought I’d just write a list. 👍
Recommendations
For podcasts to make it into this list, they have to be something I can’t get enough of. I’ve listened to every episode, sometimes multiple times. They’re the ones I recommend to everyone I know.
- The White Vault (Horror, Found Footage, Lovecraftian) - Season one is about a group of researchers in the Svalbard done in a mostly found-footage style. If you’re into Lovecraftian horror, this is for you.
- SCP:Find Us Alive (Lovecraftian, Drama, Humour) - About a group of employees stranded on an SCP site, chock full of banter and both humorous and solemn situations.
- The Hyacinth Disaster (Horror, Drama, Tragedy, Sci-fi) - Complete. This one hit me in the feels, much shorter than some series here but one of the best for getting you invested.
- Batman Unburied (Horror, Drama, Mystery) - Complete. A fascinating take on a Batman story, it hits a bit differently from other formats.
Something different
Sometimes there are things that that aren’t quite podcasts, but are still worth a listen.
- Ted the Caver (Horror, Lovecraftian, Creepypasta, Video) - This actually made me feel uncomfortable while listening; this YouTube video has a great narrator as well as interesting diagrams to go along with it.
- Call of Cthulhu Mystery Program (Horror, Drama, Mystery, Historical, TTRPG) - A fiction podcast based on a groups actual play recordings, while it includes the occasional dice role it’s been edited with music, sound effects and voice acting.
Current Listening
- Sherlock & Co (Mystery, Drama, Humour) - If you enjoyed the BBC TV series Sherlock because of the best-friend banter, you’ll probably enjoy this podcast.
- Project Nova (Mystery, Sci-fi) - A computer tries to wake up four people in pods in sequence as part of project Nova.
- Writing Excuses. A podcast about writing, with a focus on genre fiction. Each episode is about 15 minutes long, so it’s a great one to listen to while you’re doing something else.
